Hydro Pontiac Collective Agreement Interest Arbitration Award

Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

An interest arbitration hearing took place to settle outstanding bargaining items on February 7th 2022 for our Hydro Pontiac members. The outcome of this hearing was a binding arbitral award settling all outstanding bargaining issues.

Brothers at Hydro Pontiac, the highlights of your modified terms and conditions of employment are as follows:

-5-year collective agreement starting February 1st 2021.
-Wage increases compounding to over 13% plus periodic market adjustment over the course of the agreement.
-improved time off entitlement applicable to call-out periods.
-improved annual leave entitlements applicable upon reaching age 60 and incrementing thereafter.
-increased termination compensation on retirement from $3000 to $3500
-commitment on the parties to work on creating job descriptions for the roles at Hydro Pontiac.
-commitment to review current collective agreement to ensure more gender-neutral language throughout.

No concession or erosion of current benefits and terms of employment came out of the proceedings.

Special thanks to the Hydro Pontiac members for their hard work and patience awaiting this outcome. Also thanks to Michel Gaulin for all the diligent work endeavouring to broker an agreement.

Always in solidarity,
Donald Dionne - Acting Eastern Business Representative
