Yellow Pages members ratify tentative agreement
I'm pleased to report that our Yellow Pages bargaining unit has ratified the tentative agreement reached on April 22, 2022.
The voting result is:
100% In Favour of ratification.
The new agreement covers the period from January 1, 2022, until December 31, 2025.
The company sought to drastically reduce the compensation that members are paid for holidays and vacation. The negotiating team was able to protect the compensation, and members will continue to be paid for well-deserved time away from work.
Unfortunately, the new agreement does not contain an increase to the base wage during the life of the agreement; nor were we able to discuss the commission and bonus program as they are not currently part of the agreement and constitute the majority of compensation members receive. The negotiating team also raised the issue of the current compensation for meals and mileage for our members, but again these amounts are set by company policy and the employer was unwilling to discuss the issue. However, we will continue to press for meaningful discussions on all these topics.
I extend my thanks to the negotiating team for their hard work in successfully concluding these negotiations.
In solidarity,
Glen Kautz
