Treasury Board Steering Committee Meets
Members of IBEW local 2228,
During the week of Sept 12th, the National Steering committee met in Ottawa to process all of the proposals that had been submitted for this round of bargaining with the Treasury Board. Building upon the work performed by the Regional and Local steering committees, all of the proposals were studied and ranked with many comment attached and a few new proposals generated by this committee. These proposals will now be handed off to Negotiating team which will exchange proposals with the Treasury Board negotiators and begin the negotiation process in the coming months.
I would like to thank all of the members of the National Steering committee for their work during this week. I would also like to thank all of the previous steering committees who provided invaluable feedback. Lastly and most of all, I would like to thank all of the members who submitted the many proposals for this round of bargaining.
Bargaining is a long process and while much work has been done, there is still much work to do. I now cheer on our negotiating team towards a round of bargaining which will hopefully achieve many successes and I ask that all of our members be equally supportive towards the task that is now laid before them.
In Solidarity
Jeff Wendt
