Get Informed. Get Out and Vote – Election 2019
For the past four years working Canadians have seen the benefits of electing a labour friendly government. The harmful legislation enacted or in progress by the previous government has largely been repealed or dropped. Our recent round of bargaining with the Treasury Board also proved to be the most productive and efficient in recent memory.
The tricky thing about politics is that we need to always be active. We can’t simply trust that others will get us the result we hope for. It is important to continue to stay informed about the ideals of the political parties and candidates that seek to represent us.
Don’t be among the many that choose not to vote because they think it won’t make a difference, or worse, because they don’t feel informed enough to make a choice. It is important to cast an informed ballot, one not swayed by campaign mudslinging and slogans. All Canadians should be paying attention to the issues that matter to them and their families by finding information sources that they can trust to help them.
There is no doubt that political candidates would love if you got involved in their campaign, put a sign in your yard, make donations, or volunteer with their team. Do those things if you like but here’s the bottom line: Please vote.
Election Day is October 21
Advanced polls are October 11-15
Vote up to October 15 at any Elections Canada office.
