Local Union 2228 Vice President Appointment

For reasons related to both his personal and professional life, brother Perry Konynenbelt has decided to resign from his position as Local Union Vice President. Perry was appointed nearly five years ago to the position and stood for re-election in 2017. During his time in office Perry was key in developing our current electronic banking process at a national level and now recently with each of the regions. He also has helped to strengthen our internal audit practices working as a member of our audit committee. It is with much gratitude that I wish to thank brother Perry Konynenbelt for his service to the local as our Vice President and wish him nothing but the best in the future.

Thank You Perry!

Therefore, on behalf of the Executive Board, I am happy to announce the appointment of sister Natalie Riopelle to the position of Local Union Vice President, effective 1 November 2019. Sister Riopelle has been a shop steward with Rogers Media in Edmonton for two years and has also had opportunity to attend the IBEW RENEW/NextGen conference and other union training events. Her skills, experience and enthusiasm will undoubtedly be an asset to the local as we adapt to the changing needs of our membership.

Perry and Natalie will be working to transition the responsibilities of the Vice President over the course of the next few weeks.

Congratulations Natalie!

In Solidarity,
Dave Cupples
President, IBEW Local 2228
