Federal Government Bargaining Update #10
The Local continues to work towards settling the collective agreement by binding arbitration with considerable ?behind-the-scenes? activity.
Your negotiating team met in Ottawa last week to review the initial draft of our brief and continue the research to support our case. Two more face-to-face meetings of the negotiating team are planned in February and March.
The parties have also agreed to a chair for the panel: Mr Yvon Tarte. Even though this process took longer than expected, I am satisfied with the choice. Mr. Tarte is an experienced arbitrator and I?m confident he will give our issues a fair hearing.
The next step is to select dates for the hearing. Further information will be posted when this step has been completed.
