IBEW OSH COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVES
OSH committees play an important role in the workplace safeguarding the health and safety of our members. As such, it is important to have union representatives dedicated to their role.
The Canada Labour Code Part II 136.2(b) requires that the trade union(s) shall select the person to be appointed to the OSH Committees. In order to have a consistent appointment system and a clear record of the Local?s OSH representatives, anyone wishing to sit on an OSH committee who is not already a shop steward must complete an application form and return it to the Business Office. This information will be retained and the Local will draw on this list to select IBEW OSH Committee members.
